The Ministry of Lector is rooted in the power of the word of God. Isaiah tells us, “So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; It shall not return to me void, but shall do my will, achieving the end for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11)
Prayerful proclamation of the Scripture makes the presence of God alive in our midst, enlivens our hearts, challenge us, comforts us in our sorrow and empowers all of us to work for the Kingdom of God. The Lector carefully prepares themselves to proclaim the Word and making themselves instruments in bringing the centuries old truths and enlightenment to life for those assembled.
