Religious Education is the core of the curriculum at Saint Cajetan School. Our primary focus is to pass on the teachings of Jesus to the children of the parish, to form them in Gospel values, and to help them transform these values into daily living. The children receive daily instruction in their faith, participate in a variety of prayer experiences and have opportunities for planning and participating in the Eucharistic celebration. Students attend Mass weekly and an All School Mass is held monthly.
Throughout their year at Saint Cajetan, students are given opportunities to give of themselves in service and to share their time and talent with others.
Children in second grade receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. Eighth grade students receive the sacrament of Confirmation. Parent meetings are held in conjunction with student preparation for the reception of each of these sacraments.
Since the school acknowledges that parents are the first and primary religious educators of their children, it is assumed the children attend liturgical worship at Saint Cajetan Church and pray with their families. Not to do so is to confuse the child and place a dichotomy between what is being taught and what is being lived.
