Lector: Responsible for the proclamation of the Word of God at Sunday and Weekday Mass. Training will be provided.
Liturgy of the Word for Children: Gathers with children in grades K-5th during Mass for the Liturgy of the Word. Children hear the Sunday readings and discuss them at their level. Training and materials are provided.
Eucharistic Minister: Mandated by the Archdiocese to distribute Communion at Mass. Training will be provided.
Choir: Provides music for the 11:00AM Mass on Sunday mornings and at other major liturgical celebrations. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings.
Sacristan / Mass Coordinator: Prepares the vessels, books, linens and other items needed for the celebration of Mass. In addition is responsible to determine the various ministers are present and instructs them for special celebrations.
Usher: Helps to create a hospitable environment by welcoming and greeting parishioners as they enter church, assist in seating if necessary, taking up the offertory collection and distribute the Sunday bulletin.
Hospitality Minister (New Ministry): Help to create a warm and welcoming environment. Perfect for families and singles too. Assist the ushers by greeting people as they enter and exit the church and help to serve refreshments on selected Sundays.
Hospitality Committee (New Ministry): Plan and coordinate ways to make St. Cajetan a welcoming community including providing refreshments quarterly after the Sunday Masses. Creates the schedule for Hospitality Ministers.
The Liturgical Environment Committee: Enhances our liturgies by preparing the environment of the church for the various liturgical seasons and special celebrations.
Liturgical Laundress: Helps to do the laundering of the liturgical linens used for the celebration of the Eucharist.
Minister of Care: Visits hospitals, nursing homes, and the homebound. Some lead communion services and others bring the Eucharist to those ill or homebound. Training required.
Religious Formation for Children, Teens, and Adults
Baptismal Preparation Team (New Ministry): To help parents prepare for the baptism of their child. Consists of leading the baptismal preparation meeting and welcoming the parents on the day of the baptism. Training and materials will be provided.
Catechist: Works in our religious education program to share and to teach the Roman Catholic faith to the children of the parish. Program runs on Tuesday evenings during the school year.
Vacation Bible School: A program that runs for a week each summer for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Bible stories and values are taught as children play games, sing, and use arts and crafts to reinforce the stories.
Youth Ministry Team (New Ministry): Assists the youth minister (once hired) to create, implement, and evaluate youth ministry programs (spiritual and social) for junior-high and high school teens.
Adult Faith Formation Committee (New Ministry): Coordinates adult faith formation opportunities for the parish. Areas may include adult education, bible study, parish mission and other formation opportunities.
Outreach
Bereavement Ministry (New Ministry): To help offer consolation and support to families who have lost a loved one. Areas may include wake visitation and follow up with families after the funeral. Training and materials will be provided.
Peanut Butter and Jelly Brigade: Help to prepare and /or deliver peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
Outreach Committee (New Ministry): Help to coordinate the parishís outreach to those in need. Areas may include St. Vincent de Paul Society and New Neighbors.
Racial Sensitivity and Justice (New Ministry): To examine and educate the parish on racial issues in our Church and surrounding community.
Respect Life Committee: Educates and witnesses to the parish about issues surrounding human life.
Garden Club (New Ministry): Help to keep the grounds of the parish looking good by watering the plants in and around the church, help with planting and weeding if necessary.
